No JOB coz you are an MBA

As always, I was reading a skit written by an MBA graduate who was offered a low paid job and was rejected just coz he was holding a B-school MBA degree.Well analysing the situation, an MBA is aimed at achieving and integrating the managerial disciplines and creating mangers capable of making ethical and viable decisions in the interconnected world. So for this practically, B-schools have to focus on electives rather than core courses. A small comparison between the international B-schools like Harvard and MIT who offer an average of about 10 core courses and 100 electives which gives the students complete independence of diversity to face the competition in the fast paced world. However the top Indian B schools offer an average of 25 core courses and 60 electives and focuses mainly on classroom teaching rather than practical education. This has been a FLAW through generations and every generation seems to accept the FLAW including mine. And if Kellogg is known for Marketing, Harvard for General Management, our B-schools are known for MBA's to say NO(My manager in DELL was from IIM-Ahmadabad where he use to always quote this"IIM's are taught to say NO").I do not know what my post will do but I always believe at the bottom of my heart that everything starts with a little effort, and that little effort of mine is to create awareness among people(maybe a small group) so that there might be a start to save the future generations or maybe it is time to migrate from MBA to the next emerging field of education business!!

  1. thought provoking! Never thought about this before. I did my MBA from JNT University, not even a B School. I have no clue how pathetic I should feel.

Can you please elaborate on MBAs trained to say "No"? In what sense? Can you give some examples?

From which school have you done your MBA?
